How did your experience at Hood influence or shape your career today?
I wouldn’t trade my liberal arts education for anything. Hood gave me the confidence to know I can do anything––if I can learn it, I can do it.

What made you decide to attend Hood?
1) It was far enough away from home that my parents couldn’t drop in, but close enough that I could get home if I needed to. True teenager mentality! 2) Hood gave me the most scholarship money. 3) I met a really cool student, Kim Unseld ’95, during my accepted student’s visit who would become one of my dearest friends!

What is your fondest memory of your time at Hood?
All the times spent with women who accepted and looked out for each other!

Describe Hood in one word.

What did you do in the year immediately after graduating?
I worked in customer service—everyone should have a customer service job at least once in their life!—at Washington Sports & Entertainment (a.k.a., the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals umbrella organization at the time).

Define your most successful moment or experience.
Realizing my own worth, even if no one else knows it

Stranded on an island, what three things are you sure to have with you?
Gummy bears, something to convert solar energy and music.

Advice to current Hood students?
Don’t be afraid to try something different––out of your comfort zone. The worst you can do is learn and move on.
