A Message from Alumnae House

I know its mid-February, and most of you are primarily occupied with staying warm and perfecting your hot chocolate recipe, but here at Alumnae House we’re in full Reunion Weekend prep mode, with June already on our minds!

This year we’re celebrating the classes that end in 4’s and 9’s, especially honoring the Class of 1969, who will be celebrating their 50th anniversary! We’re also hosting a special gathering for those alums who participated in the Strasbourg study-abroad program or were once residents of Le Maison Francais!

And now that I’m back Home, I’m particularly excited to attend our Maryland-themed dinner on Saturday night; I’ve heard wonderful things about the Black-eyed Susan cocktail! Definitely sign up for this!

One thing that IS happening between now and Reunion, is our annual Phone-A-Thon! Starting Monday, March 11 and continuing through Wednesday, April 24, current Hood students will be contacting you to ask you for a new gift or sustaining pledge to the annual fund. I remember when I was a Phone-A-Thon volunteer and how much fun it was talking to alumni from all the different class years, and learning “what Hood life was like…” when they were students!

If you have changed your address recently, make sure we have your updated contact information so we can let you know when Hood Alumni will be gathering in YOUR area! If you’d like to help host a get-together, please contact me at greenwald@hood.edu – I love to plan a good party!

Stay warm, think of the Pergola in the Spring, and I’ll see you at Reunion!
