Last year, the energy was buzzing as three Hood alumni and two current Hood students presented their businesses and entrepreneurial ideas to a full house in Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock. As finalists, Carol King Heine ’84 and Alison Rohrer Peteranecz ’06 have gone on to grow their successful businesses, OneClick Chat and GameEnvy, respectively. The winner, Chelsea A. Young ’14 took home the big prize, $5,000, to help grow her customized nutrition business, MOD Nutrition.
Now, we need more alumni to add to this new prestigious list of participants. The Pitch Competition will be accepting submissions through March 15 for the main event on April 18, 2019. The competition itself is an opportunity for current students and Hood alumni to present their ideas in front of a panel of renowned judges, an audience of prominent Frederick leaders and community businesses, as well as students, faculty, and staff. Once more, cash prizes will be awarded, but the real reward is getting the expertise and knowledge from individuals who can advance their idea and company to the next level.
Visit http://www.hood.edu/pitch for details and submissions can be sent to PITCH@hood.edu, no later than 5 p.m. on 3/15.
