Eric Louérs-Phillips, DOL: The First Hood College Doctoral Graduate

“My journey to earn a doctoral degree is a personal one. As someone who enjoys the process of being schooled, I’ll earn the highest academic degree possible – not for monetary gain, job advancement, or to be elevated in the eyes of some – but for me.”

On May 6, 2019, Eric Louérs-Phillips, DOL successfully defended his dissertation titled “Leadership Style, Leader–Follower Congruence, & the Implementation of a Cultural Proficiency Initiative.” This is a monumental day in the history of Hood College Graduate School as Eric Louérs-Phillips, DOL is the first student to successfully defend and graduate from the doctoral program in Organizational Leadership.

Scholarship Day

All Hood students, both past and present, benefit from Scholarships. May we ask you to support our 24-hour Scholarship Day Campaign on Wednesday, April 24th?

Hood athletes have the opportunity to donate to a special Scholarship Day campaign where gifts can be designated for  the Blue and Grey Club. Alumni athletes can  compete for  “bragging rights” by selecting the team on which they played. The team with the most donors wins!

Even more exciting – For this day only, Board of Trustees members, Susan “Sue” Murawski Ganley ’79 and Susan J. Gearey ’79, will make a one-time, lump sum gift to match dollars raised on Scholarship Day, and in honor of their 40th Reunion.

Alumni Athlete Donor Goal: 100
Scholarship Day Donor Goal: 126
The total goal: 226 donors

Your gift will also give you complimentary admission to the Donor Appreciation Picnic on Saturday, April 27th in the Cohen Hospitality Suite overlooking the Thomas Athletic Field. Enjoy a fun afternoon with classmates and friends. Food and beverages will be provided. Help us cheer on the Women’s Lacrosse and Women’s Softball teams. The Women’s Lacrosse game begins at 1pm against Lycoming College. The Women’s Softball team has a double header at 1pm and 3pm against Widener College.

Kindly RSVP to the Donor Appreciation Picnic by Thursday, April 25th to The Office of Alumni and Constituent Engagement at alumoffice@hood.edu or 301-696-3700.
Thank you for your participation – we hope to see you at the Picnic!

Make sure you double your impact at Hood on Scholarship Day!
